Our Programs

The BizWorld Foundation offers hands-on, interdisciplinary curricula that connects classroom learning to the real world by teaching key concepts and vocabulary in a way that is creative, challenging, and engaging to students in grades 3-8. The program offerings, BizWorld, BizWiz and upcoming BizMovie teach children about business, entrepreneurship and money management through project-based learning. All programs enable students to recognize the practical application of core subject material, while engaging them in authentic opportunities to foster team work, leadership, problem solving and critical thinking. Programs are correlated to national standards.

Core Concepts: Business and Entrepreneurship

Program Description: In the BizWorld program, students work in teams to start and run their own businesses in a simulated friendship bracelet industry. Taking on different leadership roles, students learn the basics of business and entrepreneurship as they apply for jobs, design, manufacture, market, and sell their products in the BizWorld marketplace.

Duration : Thirteen 45-minute sessions

Core Concepts: Saving and Investing

Program Description: In BizWiz, students play the roles of analysts, controllers and traders to learn the basics of saving and investing. Working in teams, students set financial goals, analyze forecasts, create a diversified portfolio, track their investments, allocate assets and trade.

Core Concepts: Business and Entrepreneurship

Program Description: The BizWorld Foundation, in conjunction with the National Center for Women & Information Technology (NCWIT) and Kerpoof, is proud to announce that it is currently developing an integrated business, entrepreneurship, and computer animated movie production curriculum.

BizMovie Program Highlights:  BizMovie focuses on similar concepts as BizWorld, but with the twist of utilizing technology and entrepreneurship to create an animated movie production business. The program was created to bring together important technology skills in a business context that will resonate with 3rd – 8th grade audiences.

Duration : Fifteen 45-minute sessions
