When Emily joined her 6th grade class at White Cliffs Middle School in Kingman, Arizona, little did she know, her whole outlook on life was about to change. It was an ordinary fall semester like any other, when Emily’s class started the BizWorld+ program. Like many students, she thought entrepreneurship was just about making products and earning money. But through the program, Emily discovered something far more valuable – the essential life skills that form the foundation of success.
“An entrepreneur needs to be able to accept constructive criticism and listen to other teammates’ input,” Emily reflected. As her team navigated the challenges of starting and running their company, she found herself developing skills that went far beyond business basics.
Working with classmates who had different perspectives taught Emily the power of collaboration and open-mindedness. “Through BizWorld, I learned to work as a team and listen to other teammates’ ideas,” she shared.
The program helped Emily build confidence in sharing her own ideas while also learning to value diverse viewpoints – skills that are crucial not just for entrepreneurship, but for success in any future career. Her enthusiasm for these newfound abilities is clear: “I think it would be interesting to be an entrepreneur and see your product become popular!”
Emily’s story exemplifies how BizWorld helps students discover their inner strengths and develop essential skills like teamwork, communication, and resilience. These are the building blocks that will serve them well throughout their lives, whether they become entrepreneurs or choose different paths.
