It was so much fun because you get to make your own business, so you can do things to help others.

I loved BizWorld because it was oodles of fun making a product and selling it, and going through a real life experience.
I teach second grade and found this incredible program. Since my class was younger than the recommended age I decided to include our 4th grade buddy class in on this program. It was unbelievable and brought these kids together. They made the most incredible bracelets. Students who get in trouble all the time, or just can’t fit in found a place with this program to feel special. Students learned to work together as a team. They learned that things are not easy, but to keep going and not give up. They learned compromise and how to share. The skills learned from your incredible program were so memorable and will last a lifetime. Thanks for creating this amazing program where kids feel special and do not even realize they are learning. I love this program and hope to continue using it in future years. I would love to try your other programs and modify for my younger class too. Thanks so much!
We haven’t started yet (next week) but LAST year I think my favorite memory was when a student looked at me and said something to the effect of “This is what school should be like all the time!”–and I agree! I’ve been facilitating (not teaching…facilitating) BizWorld for about 5 years and I can honestly say it is one of the most meaningful real world experiences I can give my students. From the real world math, to the exploration of career options, to the focus on collaboration–it is a priceless unit and a wonderful way to end their fourth grade year.
My most memorable experience with BizWorld this year was when the group made a pitch to the ventured capitalist. I never cease to be amazed at discovering “hidden talents” in my students. The day of the pitch the CEO was absent so he picked another student to fulfill his responsibilities. The student he chose does not usually excel in classroom tasks. I discovered, however, that he was a great persuasive speaker. Thanks to BizWorld!
The kids take their jobs very seriously, and thrive in them. I’ve witnessed students having brave conversations, organizing tasks, and helping each other through struggles.
The students became very aware of their roles in their companies. They saw how important it was to communicate and cooperate with their peers. I noticed they started to understand the concept of using money appropriately and saving money.
