The Importance of Saving and Investing

BizWiz teaches children in grades 5-8 the basics of money management and investing. During the course of this interdisciplinary program, students learn about different types of investment vehicles (stocks, bonds, CDs, venture capital, real estate, and collectibles) and create an investment portfolio.

While working as an investment team of six, students collaborate in order to set a financial goal, develop an investment strategy and trading plan, create a diversified portfolio, and track their investments. Together, teams participate in simulated trading sessions to work toward meeting their financial goals.

Throughout BizWiz, students have the opportunity to act as a leader within their groups and will learn to think critically about investing because they understand the factors that contribute to a smart financial strategy. To learn more about the benefits of BizWiz, click here.
